South Tyrol - Merano - South Round

short tour description/route characteristics

After leaving Meran and reaching Lana, the Gampenjoch and the Mendelpass, two passes that are perfect for motorcycling, wide, grippy asphalt, wonderful curve combinations - motorcyclists, what more do you want? From Kaltern via Auer the route continues towards Cavalese. In Montan a small road branches off and leads steeply up to Truden. In Kaltenbrunn the main road towards Cavalese is reached again. After 3 km an initially wide road leads to Altrei. In wonderfully swinging curves and very good asphalt it goes 6 km to Altrei. As wide and well developed as the road has been so far, as narrow it will be afterwards. In Altrei turn left at the . church, the road goes downhill for 5 km on a narrow asphalt strip. The following section along the Val di Cembra is simply ideal for motorcycling! Predominantly well developed, however, there are also several narrow road sections, which, however, also invite you to chase curves due to the low traffic volume. In Faver the road goes steeply downhill to lead back towards Cavalese on the other side of the valley. From there it goes over the Passo di Lavazé to Bozen. In the middle of the town, the path leads towards Meran to Vöran. From there another delicacy follows! The route to Mölten - a pleasure. Via Hafling you reach Meran again. On this last section of the route spectacular views down into the Etsch Valley are on the programme again
